- Future-Proofing Fire Safety in Healthcare: From Compliance to Operational Excellence - Honeywell GOLD SPONSOR
- Healthcare facilities face an increasingly complex fire safety landscape shaped by aging infrastructure, evolving care environments, and heightened regulatory scrutiny. Too often, fire safety is treated as a compliance requirement rather than a core component of operational resilience. This session explores how healthcare organizations can shift from reactive, checklist-based approaches to proactive fire safety strategies that prioritize patient safety, staff readiness, and continuity of care. Attendees will learn how modern fire detection and life-safety technologies, combined with system integration, data visibility, and smarter maintenance practices, can reduce risk while improving efficiency and long-term asset performance. The session will also highlight how future-ready fire safety programs can align with broader healthcare goals such as digital transformation, sustainability, and operational excellence.

- The Building Safety Act in Practice: What’s New, What Still Applies, What to Do Now
- Proposed synopsis / topics – This session will discuss the key issues around building safety that continue to confuse and cause issues across the NHS. This includes understanding when building control approval is actually required, whether a HRB can be split into smaller non-HRB sections (meaning building control applications can go via the local authority rather than to the BSR), what may count as an emergency repair, what a good gateway 2 application looks like, and how to balance the requirements of the Building Safety Act with remaining compliant with the Fire Safety Order. Q&A welcome and encouraged.

- Martyn's Law Connected. Protected. Prepared?
- Martyn’s Law represents a significant shift in how organisations approach public safety, placing new responsibilities on venues and operators to assess risk, improve preparedness, and protect people from hostile threats. As the legislation moves closer to implementation, many organisations are asking what “good” really looks like in practice—and how to move beyond minimum compliance to meaningful readiness. In this session, Professor Aoife Hunt MBE of the University of Greenwich explores the practical implications of Martyn’s Law through the lens of crowd safety, security science, and organisational resilience. The session will examine how connectivity between people, processes, and systems can strengthen protective measures, improve preparedness, and support proportionate, risk-based decision-making across a range of environments.

If a colleague can take your place, please inform Ascent Events of the name change immediately – no administration or extra charges will be applied. If your place is re-sold to another delegate, a full/part refund will be offered, depending on which elements of the package are re-sold. If you need to cancel due to a sincere reason that cannot be avoided, such as serious medical condition or bereavement, this will then be assessed on an individual basis by NAHFO committee, and a full/part refund may be offered depending on the circumstances.
